Effective Maps

The City of Republic’s Effective Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM),often referred to as a community’s Floodplain Map, is dated December 2010 and serves as the City’s primary National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Map for our community.  The map indicates Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA or Floodplain).  The map is an important component of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and serves as the basis of NFIP regulations and flood insurance requirements.

The NFIP is a Federal program to mitigate future flood losses in a community through community-enforced building and zoning ordinances.  The City of Republic’s participation in the NFIP provides access to affordable, federally backed flood insurance protection for property owners in our community.
