We’ve received many inquiries regarding if parks and trails are still open for use. The short answer is… YES! All of our playgrounds are closed; however, general park green space and trails remain open. Check out the graphic below with a few reminders on how to safely utilize our parks during this time, including social distancing of at least six feet between you and others.

Sign up today for Run RepMO 2020 Challenge. Participants in this virtual race are challenged to complete 20 miles in 20 days. Now more than ever, the benefits of sunshine, fresh air, and fitness are important to the people in our community. Together we choose to stay active. Together we choose to stay safe while we do it. Choose daily to run, walk, hike, or bike. Remember to do so individually or only with your immediate family in your household. Avoid crowds. When encountering others on a trail or sidewalk, move to the side staying 6 feet apart. All participants who register by midnight on Sunday, April 5th will receive a Run RepMO 2020 Challenge t-shirt. The first 50 participants age 12 and under to register will receive a free RAC day pass. Only $7.50 per participant to sign up!
Set your goals, track your miles, share your progress on social media using #RunRepMO, report your miles, and watch the virtual leaderboard! Virtual teams are also available!

Registration for Youth Baseball, Softball & Tot-ball has been extended through Friday, April 17. Registration is available for both teams and individuals. To register online, visit recdesk.republicparks.com and look for your child's age group under the Youth Sports section. Part of the registration process will include the upload of your child's birth certificate or other documentation verifying your child's birth date and a photo of your child. These will be used for age verification. Please note that everyone who is playing in the league will be required to register regardless of whether they are seeking placement on a team or not.
The start of the season has also been pushed back to the week of May 25th. Games will not be played on May 25th due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Registration is now open for swimming lessons, party packages and facility rentals at the Republic Aquatic Center for the 2020 season! All registrations and rentals will be taken online using our new software at recdesk.republicparks.com. Click on "RAC Programs" for swimming lessons or "Rentals" for party packages and facility rentals.
Although the discounted Early Bird sales period has ended, RAC Season Passes are still available to purchase at the full price using the link above and clicking on "RAC Season Passes".

"Early Bird" registration for the Summer Recreation Day Camp is still open! Be sure your child’s summer is full of fun with a variety of field trips, frequent trips to the Republic Aquatic Center, gym games, board games, crafts, clubs, and more! The program is available for those currently in Kindergarten through 12 years of age. We’re bringing back Yoga classes at The Amp in 2020! Classes are available on the first Thursday of each month (except for Sunrise Yoga in August). Our first class of the season will be Goat Yoga on Thursday, May 7. This specialty class is $20 per person and there must be at least 20 people registered to run the class, so be sure to sign up with a friend!

This basic tumbling class is open to toddlers (ages 2-5) and meets on Thursday evenings May 7-28 with class time options of 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tumbling, movement, balance and flexibility will be covered in each session. Music and props will be incorporated into the class. One parent will be required to participate in the class with their toddler. There will be a maximum of eight toddlers per class. All classes will be held at the Republic Community Center Activities Building and the cost is $20 per toddler for four weeks of instruction.

Are you wanting learn to play guitar, brush up on your skills, or become a more advanced musician? Private guitar lessons are just for you! This one-on-one class is open to individuals ages 6 and up with varying levels of experience playing guitar. Lessons are available for 30 minute time slots (from 10:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.) on Fridays for a four-week block running May 8-29. Each four-week session is $50. Participants must bring their own guitar. Registration will be available starting April 17 at recdesk.republicparks.com. You'll find Private Guitar Lessons under the Community Programs section.

Are you looking for a night out on the town without the kiddos? Bring them to the Republic Community Center for a night of fun while you get a peaceful night to yourself. Age appropriate games and equipment, movies, and crafts will be available. Dinner (pizza) will also be provided. The next Parent's Night Out date is Friday, May 8! The program is held from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required and costs $12 per child; register online at recdesk.republicparks.com.

We are bringing back Adult Kickball this summer and adding a separate league just for teens. Registration for both leagues is open and runs through May 17. The Teen League is available for ages 13-17 and the Adult League is open to those ages 17 and up. Both leagues will be a total of 6 games in June & July with Teens playing on Mondays and Adults playing on Tuesdays. Leagues are co-ed and a minimum of three females are required when fielding and in the kicking lineup.

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department has released the schedule for the 2020 season at The Amp! The Amp, located within J.R. Martin Park (300 E. Hines in Republic), features permanent seating for 500+, lawn and mulch viewing areas, a 20’ x 65’ performance stage, a 15’ tall on-stage truss system, a 16’ x 10’ movie screen, and much more.
Mark your calendar for Opening Weekend at The Amp scheduled for Friday, May 15 and Saturday, May 16! Big Rig Night is back on May 15th along with a showing of Toy Story 4. Additional activities include games, crafts, and a Toy Story costume contest! Frozen II will be on the big screen the following night with activities including games, face painting, inflatables, a meet and greet with Elsa and Anna, and more! Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. both days with the movie following at approximately 8:35 p.m. Admission and activities are FREE! Concessions will be available to purchase.

Yes - we are still hiring! We're accepting applications ONLINE to fill over 100 summer positions at the Republic Aquatic Center, Summer Recreation Day Camp, and for the Youth Baseball/Softball League. Due to the current stay at home order, we will only be accepting applications online and interviews will be conducted via phone and/or video conference.
