School's Out Program Offered Over Winter Break

The Republic Parks & Recreation Department will be offering several School’s Out Program dates during Republic School District’s Winter Break. The program will be in session on December 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 and January 2. Field trips for these dates include Village Pottery, Republic Ninja Warrior Sports, Glow Golf, The OC Indoor Aquatic Center, the Discovery Center, and Andy B's. The cost for this program is $20.00 per child, per day and is non-refundable. The fee includes all field trips and activities. Children ages 6 (or in Kindergarten) to 12 are welcome to attend. The program runs from 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. A lunch and a snack must be sent with your child each day they attend the program. A detailed list of field trips and activities is available at the Republic Community Center.

Pre-registration is required and payment is due at the time of registration. There must be a minimum of 10 children registered 48 hours in advance of each date to run the program; please register early to ensure that dates are not cancelled! Registration can be done at the Republic Community Center located at 711 E. Miller Road. Due to staffing requirements and field trip costs, all fees are non-refundable and cannot be credited to future dates.

Father/Daughter Dance Tickets on Sale Starting December 26

Registration for the 14^th Annual Father/Daughter Valentine Dance will open on December 26, 2017! The dance will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Republic Community Center. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. for pictures; music will begin at 6:30 p.m. Come enjoy refreshments (finger foods and beverages), music provided by a live DJ, pictures taken by a professional photographer, and LOTS OF FUN!

Registration will run through January 28, 2018. The cost per couple (father & one daughter) is $25.00 and $10.00 for each additional daughter (if registered on/before the January 28 deadline). Ticket prices will increase to $30.00 per couple (father & one daughter) and $15.00 for each additional daughter after the registration deadline (January 29 – February 2). Pre-registration is required and payment is due at the time of registration.

Winter Youth Volleyball Registration

Republic Parks & Recreation is currently taking registrations for the Winter Youth Volleyball league. Youth Volleyball is open to teams and individuals in 3^rd – 6^th grade. Registration will be open through Friday, December 29.

The eight-game season will begin the week of January 22, 2018; all games will be played at the Republic Community Center. Game days are as follows: 3^rd and 4^th Grade – Monday/Tuesday; 5^th & 6^th Grade – Tuesday/Thursday. Grades may be combined depending on the number of teams registered.

The league fee is $250.00 per team ($25.00 discount for resident teams). For more information or to register an individual, contact the Republic Parks & Recreation Department at (417) 732-3500. This program will rely on volunteer coaches to make it successful.

Early Bird RAC Passes

The Republic Aquatic Center is offering discounted “Early Bird” Season Passes for the 2018 season through March 16, 2018. Pricing information is as follows:

2018 Resident Season Pass (Single/Initial Family Member)
Regular Price: $100.00; 'Early Bird' Price: $85.00, Savings: $15.00

2018 Resident Season Pass (Each Additional Family Member)
Regular Price: $20.00; 'Early Bird' Price: $15.00; Savings: $5.00

2018 Non-Resident Season Pass (Single/Initial Family Member)
Regular Price: $120.00; 'Early Bird' Price: $105.00; Savings: $15.00

2018 Non-Resident Season Pass (Each Additional Family Member)
Regular Price: $25.00; 'Early Bird' Price: $20.00; Savings: $5.00

Season passes make great gifts for the kids! “Early Bird” passes can be purchased at the Republic Community Center front desk. Please note that “The Huna” is not included in the price of a season pass; those wishing to ride this specialty attraction must pay a $2.00 daily fee.

Republic Tigers Lacrosse

Republic Parks & Recreation is accepting registrations for the 2018 season of the Republic Tigers Lacrosse program. Leagues are available for boys in grades 5-12 and girls in grades 9-12 in the Southwest Missouri area. Practice begins in January 2018; games will begin in late February 2018.

Two leagues will be offered for boy’s lacrosse – Jr. High and High School. The Jr. High league (grades 5-8) is $200.00 per player. The High School league (grades 9-12) is $275.00 per player. Fees include equipment rental, uniform, and US Lacrosse Membership. All equipment and uniform items must be returned at the end of the season.

The girl’s league (High School, grades 9-12) is $160.00 per player and includes equipment rental, uniform, and US Lacrosse Membership. All equipment and uniform items must be returned at the end of the season.

Registration will be open through December 29. Payment is due at the time of registration.

The Republic Community Center will have the following hours during the holiday season:

Christmas Eve: Building Closed
Christmas Day: Building Closed
New Year's Eve: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
New Year's Day: Building Closed
