Republic Parks & Recreation is offering several new camps and clinics this summer. Find more information about each one below.
Archery Camp: June 17-20; 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Brookline Park; $50
This camp for ages 8-14 covers range safety, equipment, and the fundamentals of archery shooting.
Evangel Soccer Camp: June 24, 25 & 27; 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Garoutte Field; $25 for ages 4-6, $40 for ages 7 and older
The goal of this camp for ages 4-13 is to provide a safe, fun, and competitive environment to allow each player to develop their technical and tactical skills and then apply those skills to the game. Campers will be trained by college coaches and players! Ages 4-6 will attend from 6:00-7:00 pm. Ages 7 and older will attend from 6:00-8:00 pm. June 27 will conclude with a game and parents and fans are invited to come and cheer!
Goal Keeper Clinic: June 26; 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Garoutte Field; $15
This one day clinic for ages 8-14 digs into the technique of one of the most overlooked positions on the field. Most camps and league coaches focus on the field players. This session will teach proper technique for the fundamentals of goal keeping and then allow players to apply those techniques in a final goal keeper shoot out challenge. Sign up for both the Evangel Soccer Camp and the Goal Keeper Clinic together for $50 (a $5 savings).
Challenger Soccer Camp: July 8-11; 8:30-10:30 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at Garoutte Field; $96
This camp for ages 9-14 features Challenger’s 1,000 touches curriculum and focuses on individual foot skills, fakes, moves and turns, freestyle soccer, dribbling, passing, receiving, shooting, heading, tackling, defending, and the Camp World Cup!
All Sports Camp: July 15-18; 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Miller Park; $35
This camp is for every child. The purpose? To get children outdoors, active, and having fun over the summer. Children ages 6-12 are invited to join us for this camp featuring kick ball, dodgeball, wiffle ball, relay races, tag games, and on the final day water games!
Tennis Camp: July 22-25; 5:30-7:00 p.m. at JR Martin Park Tennis Courts; $45
This camp for ages 6-14 will teach basic and intermediate skills including forehand, back hand, volley and serve. Fun drills, games, and match play will be incorporated into lessons so your child will be learning and having a good time! Even better, this camp is hosted by Dan Vales, David Smashey, and the Republic High School Tennis teams!
Volleyball Camp: July 29-31; 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Republic Community Center; $45
This camp for ages 6-13 hosted by Premier Volleyball will teach technique and include fun games and activities.
